Web Design Process
As with any project, designing an effective website begins with an effective process. Here, we will step you through a sample website design and deployment.
Assess Needs
The first step we will take is discovering your needs. If you have looked at our website questionnaire you will have a good start on gathering the necessary information. We will need information to understand your audience as well as your industry. Depending on your company, the amount of spare time your staff person designated to gather the information has available, and the complexity of your industry this phase can take from 1 day to 2 weeks.
Information Planning
Once we have reviewed the information gathered in step one we will make a plan of what will be included in the website. We will decide what information needs to be gathered and assign who will gather them and the timeline. This phase lasts 1 to 2 days.
Structure Content
Next we will plan the structure of the site content. A site map will be put together to show the structure of pages and information. This is sometimes done at the same time as the previous step. For more complicated sites, it can take longer.
Design Mock-Ups
It's time now to develop mock-ups of site design incorporating all information gathered to this point. Review and revise as necessary. This phase lasts approximately 1 week.
Build Web Site Template
We're getting there! It's time to start putting something on the web. We will lay out the site in a web template and make the site functional. Client will review and approve the layout. This phase length depends on the complexity of the site.
Place Content
During this phase we will place all documents, multimedia and text to complete the site. Since all this information has been gathered already, the process will take a few days.
Go Live!
The website is now ready to deploy. We will upload all the files to your host and re-test functionality. You will review the site one last time and let us know about any changes which need to be made.
Maintenance and Updates
You didn't think you were done, did you? Websites need updates and maintenance to keep them fresh and current. We do offer maintenance services for an additional fee.
